I have now officially lost 5% of my starting body weight! I didn't WI last week as had awful migraine but went last night and have lost 5lbs! To say I was shocked is an understatement. I would have been happy staying the same to honest, it my TOTM and over the weekend DH was away and I didn't eat a single 'real' meal! I didn't go over my points but did just eat crap!
So now I've lost 15.5lbs in total, in 7 weeks. I'm very happy with that. Can't say I can see any difference in my body yet, although my thighs are definitely slimmer. Butu then last time I lost weight, I didn't notice till I'd lost nearly 2 stone. I'm desperate to get into the next cloths size down, I've got load of nice trousers and jeans just begging to be worn and am currently stuck in just 2 pairs that fit! But I refuse to buy more at this stage.
My mum is coming to visit next week and I haven't seen her since before I start on WW, so it'll be interesting to see if she notices any difference. Fingers crossed! x

21 Mar 11 - Could I be the next David Bailey???
Ok, so it's not likely, but I have just signed up to a digital photography course with the OU! I've been doing business related courses with them for the past year or so, supposidly to enhance my employment prospects, but I've got bored and decided to do some courses that I actually want to do, rather than the ones I "ought" to do. I did that with my first degree and hated every minute of it - what a waste of 3 years at uni! Can't wait to get started in May - could be the start of a whole new career ;-)
Anyway, back to real (boring?!) life. Last Tuesday's WI showed ANOTHER 1.5lbs off. All good but just wish I could get the odd 2lbs off once in a while! Fingers crossed for tomorrow, although I'm not holding my breath.
Quite an uneventful week really. My DD had her first sleepover at a friends house on Friday. She's only 3 and a half so I was expecting a phone call to collect her but she was fine. I'm so pleased, but then she always has been confident and independent so I suppose it's only to be expected. Unfortunatly we didn't get a lie in on Sat morning as DH had to go in to hospital for an operation at 7am. Had to be there for 7am but didn't go to theatre till mid afternoon! All went well though and now he's back home on the mend. I was worried that I wouldn't be able to get to the gym in the evenings but as long as I put DD to bed first, he'll be fine after - so no excuses for me! I haven't been to the gym in about 2 weeks now due to tonsilitus and then sciatica but hopefully back to it this week.
It's lovely and sunny at the moment so just hope it keeps it up - I'm so much happier when it's sunny :-)
Bye for now x

14 Mar 11 - Pizza, bowling injuries and owl costumes!
A bit of a mixed barrel for today's post as you have probably already guessed!
First off, I lost anoth 1.5lbs on Tuesday's WI. It seems that 1.5lbs is what I can loose without making much effort! (I.e. eating all dailies and weeklies and not doing any exercise!) Not bad really!
This is a very satisfying, filling meal and soooo moorish! I like to cut the base in two as I find them a bit doughy otherwise - plus you get twice the topping! Yum yum yum!
Topic number two - Bowling injuries! Now you may well laugh, but I went bowling last Wednesday with work and I've now got sciatica! We bowled for abou two and a half hours and I had a great time - mainly because it turns out I'm quite good and my team won! But the next day my hips ached from it and then on Sat it turned into sciatica - Who on earth comes away from bowling with an injury?! Only me! Needless to say I've still not been to the gym as just walking is painful at the moment.
And finally topic number tree - Owl costumes! My DD is doing a sponsored arobic session in friday in aid of comic relief at her nursery and has to be dressed as a character from The Gruffalo! So in my great wisdom, I decided to make an owl costume! I started with a trip to hobby craft - alway dangerous as I just get carried away in that place, and returned with loads of felt, which then took the rest of sat to cut into feathers! I have to say though - this is the best blooming owl costume I've ever seen! It's gorgeous even if I do say so myself! Just need to sort the mask out and I'll be done, but another trip to hobbycraft is required as I'm out of felt. I'll post a pic once it's done - I'm so proud of myself. I was sat there Sat night with a bruise on my thumb from cutting for so long and it suddenly struck me just what my mother went through for me, the number of amazing costumes she's made over the years and it never occurred to me before, the number of hours she put into them. Thanks mum x
On a sadder note, I've just been looking at the BBC news website reading about the Japan earthquake and it really puts my (and most other peoples) lives in perspective. There's us worrying about only loosing a pound and a half in a week or wether we should have that chocolate or not, while accross the other side of the world there are whole villages washed away. Even seeing the destruction on TV, I just can't comprehend what it must be like out there. I thank God that I have nothing really to worry about, not when you look at the big picture. x

So on to topic number one - Pizza! I was sat at work last week deciding what to do for dinner when I had the sudden craving for pizza! Quite unusual for me as it's not one of my fave dishes. So, on to Tesco.com I go to see what I could come up with - and boy did I find a fab solution! (I've actually had pizza for lunch every day since!)
1. 1 Napolina mini pizza base - cut through the middle to make two thinner bases (6pp)
2. Spread each with 1tbsp of tomato puree (1pp)
3. Sprinkle 60g of extra mature low-fat cheese over (5pp)
4. Add any other free topping you like - my current faves are finely diced red onion and red pepper, capers and a chopped green chilli for some heat. (for an extra 1pp, add 2 slices of chopped pepperoni)
5. Shove in the oven for 10 mins and enjoy! This is a very satisfying, filling meal and soooo moorish! I like to cut the base in two as I find them a bit doughy otherwise - plus you get twice the topping! Yum yum yum!

08 Mar 11 - Poorly me :-(
I've been neglecting you once again haven't I?! Very sorry, been feeling pants and it now turns out I've had tonsillitis! Anyway, I lost another 1.5lbs at last weeks WI, I must admit that I was a little disappointed but gave myself a kick up the bum so am now happy. As long as it's coming off, I'm happy! I know I shouldn't compare myself to others but just can't help it and lots of people seem to have huge losses in their first few weeks so I was expecting too as well. But. 7.5lbs in 3 weeks is good, bloody good in fact!
Got my WI again tonight and I'm also going to take my measurements again so will hopefully see a difference. I think my jeans are looser certainly. I can't wait to get back into my smart work trousers - I'm too much of a cheapskate to buy new ones!
Some days this week have been a real struggle as I've been feeling rough and just wanted to eat everything in sight. I tried to keep my weeklies for Sat as I was going out for drinks but ended up using a few during the week. Still managed to have about a bottle and a half of vino sat night though!
It's funny how some days it's hard and others easy isn't it. Like I said, a couple of days last week I went over my dailies and really struggled controlling my eating whereas yesterday I had 5 dailies left over I just didn't want anything else to eat!
So fingers crossed for tonight! x

01 Mar 11 - Wedding Weekend and WI tonight
I know it's been a while since my last post, it's just been so hectic round here what with work, OU assignments, family and a wedding!
So on Sat we went down to Portsmouth for a wedding of one of DH's friends. I'd decided to drive thus allowing DH to drink and me to save points! I also decided to enjoy the day and not worry about tracking. I had all my weeklies left so just wrote them all off for that day. We even had a sneaky kebab on the way home after! The next day I started thinking about the previous day's point and decided to try and work it all out as best I could. What a shock! Obviously I'd gone into my weeklies but there was no way I'd used them all, even over estimating everything, I couldn't have used them all! I still wrote them off, just to be on the safe side, but it just goes to show that we can enjoy important events and still keep on track.
DH is away this week and I have a habit of not eating properly when he's not around so I'm going to make a real effort to still cook proper meals this week.
I've got my WI tonight. I'm annoyed I won't be able to stay to the meeting but I'm going to have to take DD along and she'll just be a pest if we stayed. DH being away also means that I won't be able to get to the gym this week. So I'll have to make the effort at the weekend and leave him to babysit! Oh to be without responsibilities again! I love them really!
