First off, I lost anoth 1.5lbs on Tuesday's WI. It seems that 1.5lbs is what I can loose without making much effort! (I.e. eating all dailies and weeklies and not doing any exercise!) Not bad really!
So on to topic number one - Pizza! I was sat at work last week deciding what to do for dinner when I had the sudden craving for pizza! Quite unusual for me as it's not one of my fave dishes. So, on to Tesco.com I go to see what I could come up with - and boy did I find a fab solution! (I've actually had pizza for lunch every day since!)
1. 1 Napolina mini pizza base - cut through the middle to make two thinner bases (6pp)
2. Spread each with 1tbsp of tomato puree (1pp)
3. Sprinkle 60g of extra mature low-fat cheese over (5pp)
4. Add any other free topping you like - my current faves are finely diced red onion and red pepper, capers and a chopped green chilli for some heat. (for an extra 1pp, add 2 slices of chopped pepperoni)
5. Shove in the oven for 10 mins and enjoy! This is a very satisfying, filling meal and soooo moorish! I like to cut the base in two as I find them a bit doughy otherwise - plus you get twice the topping! Yum yum yum!
Topic number two - Bowling injuries! Now you may well laugh, but I went bowling last Wednesday with work and I've now got sciatica! We bowled for abou two and a half hours and I had a great time - mainly because it turns out I'm quite good and my team won! But the next day my hips ached from it and then on Sat it turned into sciatica - Who on earth comes away from bowling with an injury?! Only me! Needless to say I've still not been to the gym as just walking is painful at the moment.
And finally topic number tree - Owl costumes! My DD is doing a sponsored arobic session in friday in aid of comic relief at her nursery and has to be dressed as a character from The Gruffalo! So in my great wisdom, I decided to make an owl costume! I started with a trip to hobby craft - alway dangerous as I just get carried away in that place, and returned with loads of felt, which then took the rest of sat to cut into feathers! I have to say though - this is the best blooming owl costume I've ever seen! It's gorgeous even if I do say so myself! Just need to sort the mask out and I'll be done, but another trip to hobbycraft is required as I'm out of felt. I'll post a pic once it's done - I'm so proud of myself. I was sat there Sat night with a bruise on my thumb from cutting for so long and it suddenly struck me just what my mother went through for me, the number of amazing costumes she's made over the years and it never occurred to me before, the number of hours she put into them. Thanks mum x
On a sadder note, I've just been looking at the BBC news website reading about the Japan earthquake and it really puts my (and most other peoples) lives in perspective. There's us worrying about only loosing a pound and a half in a week or wether we should have that chocolate or not, while accross the other side of the world there are whole villages washed away. Even seeing the destruction on TV, I just can't comprehend what it must be like out there. I thank God that I have nothing really to worry about, not when you look at the big picture. x
